Wu Rulun and the Trend of Educational Reform in Modern China

我国近代教育先驱吴汝纶考察日本的教育体制,结合清末社会实际,提出了废科举、兴"西学"、办学校的主张,大力提倡新式教育,力主教育理念、教育体制、教育模式的大胆创新,吴汝纶教育思想和教育实践在中国近代教育思想史上起到承前启后的作用,对推进我国近代教育的变革功不可没。

Wu Rulun, a pioneer of education in modem China, put forward the abolition of the imperial examination, the estab-lishment of ＂Western learning＂ and the construction of schools, after he investigated Japan＇s education system and the social realities of the late Qing Dynasty. He vigorously promoted new education, and advocated the bold innovation of education concept, education system and education model. Wu Rulun＇s educational thought and educational practice plays a role in the history of modern China＇s educational thoughts, and it is essential to pro-mote the transformation of modem education in our country.
