基于语料库的科技语篇动词名词化使用特点的对比研究——以英语本族语者与中国学生农科论文摘要为例

使用语料库研究方法,对比英语本族语学者与中国学生农科硕博论文摘要,探讨中国学生科技语篇使用动词名词化结构的特征。研究结果显示,中国学生在论文写作中动词名词化手段总体上使用不足,与本族语者相比存在显著差异;在动词名词化手段的使用方面,中国学生的动名词和动词派生性名词存在使用不足的情况。一方面,母语迁移和语言僵化是造成差异的主要原因;另一方面,现有科技英语写作教学的不足也是导致差异的客观因素。

This paper reports on a corpus-based contrastive study on verbal nominalization in scientific discourse between English native speakers and Chinese EFL learners to investigate the characteristics of nominalization of Chinese EFL learners' scientific discourses. The result of research shows:there is a significant difference in use of nominalization between native speakers and Chinese EFL learners from the perspective of deficiency of verbal nominalization by Chinese EFL learners. Gerundial nominalization and 1exical nominalization have been widely used by native speakers. The mother tongue transference and the language fossilization are the main reasons that cause the difference. On the other hand, the defect on teaching of scientific English is also an objective factor.
