摘要
英语全球化的进程给英语使用群体的数量带来了巨大的改变,因而在日益频繁的国际交流中,英语通用语的地位也随之凸显。英语通用语的研究对传统意义上的本族语规范产生了颠覆性的影响,更对英语教育提供了全新的视角。本文通过对英语通用语的发展及其对我国英语教育的启示进行阐述,从而更进一步地探讨在这一框架下国内英语教师所面临的问题与挑战,并提出一些具体的应对方法。
The globalization of English has tremendously changed the number of English speakers all over the world. It also consolidates the status of English as a lingual franc （ELF） among international communications. The ELF research greatly chal- lenges the traditional idea of native speaker norms, which meanwhile provides a new perspective for the requirement of English teaching. By reviewing the development of ELF and its implications for English education in China, the current paper further discusses the difficulties and challenges faced by English teachers, and several relevant solutions are to be sorted out at the same time.
