Gap between Ought and Is——On Status Anxiety in Spotlight

奥斯卡获奖影片《聚焦》再现了《波士顿环球报》的"聚焦"小组对神父娈童案的调查性报道。该片并未浓墨重彩于受害者的创伤叙事,而是在牧师、记者与律师的角力中呈现事实被曝光、真相被挖掘的过程,其未经明示的张力机制与潜藏的内涵鲜有人考鉴。因此,本文试图探讨三方对各自职业的再认识——教会机构的运作、纸媒记者的困境与法律工作者的规制,探析他们在失语中从个体推至群体的身份焦虑,体悟其打破沉默之墙的艰辛与苦涩。

Spotlight,the recent Oscar-winning film,represents the spotlight team of Boston Globe who are commit-ted to an investigative report concerning children abused by a priest. Instead of emphasizing on traumatic narration targeted at minor victims,the film presents the process and procedure of discovering facts and digging truth among priests,journalists and lawyers. Little attention has been paid to its underlying tension and connotation. Therefore, this paper attempts to explore each party,s reconsideration of their respective vocation, namely,operation of eccle-siastical institution,predicament of print reporters and regulation of legal practitioners,expounds their individual- to-group status anxiety embodied in speechlessness and experiences their twists and turns of breaking silence.
