To Sing in Praise of Homeland, to Salute in Praise of Heroes

遵循习主席教诲,我给自己定下了目标要求。一是按照养德修艺德的要求,树立高尚的、纯粹的艺术品格,争当一个对人民负责、对国家负责、对英雄负责的作家。二是按照走入生活、贴近人民的要求,深入生活,利用寒暑两假,回到鄂豫皖、回到大别山,从民间传说中发掘散珠碎玉,从百姓生活中领悟革命真谛。三是按照勇于创新创造的要求,加强艺术积累,学习经验,洞悉艺术创新的奥秘,不断使自己的作品走向引人入胜、动人心弦、耐人寻味、发人深省的高度。四是努力履职尽责,立足解放军艺术学院文学系这个平台,为部队培养输送更多优秀文学人才;珍惜在中国作协兼职的荣誉,推进军事文学繁荣发展。

Following the teachings by President Xi, I have set my goal and requirements. First, I will guarantee myself to be a writer responsible to the people, to the country, and to the heroes. Second, in accordance with the requirement of walking into life and approaching the demands of the people, I will walk into the thick of life and go back to Hubei, Henan, and Anhu Provinces, to the Dabie Mountains to find ＂scattered beads and broken jades＂ from folklores, and to apprehend the revolutionary truth from people＇s life during winter and summer vocations. Third, according to the requirement of innovation and creation, I will strengthen my accumulation of art, learn from others＇ experience, and get insight into the mystery of artistic innovation to constantly make my works to the fascinating, beautiful, interesting, and thought-provoking height. Fourth, I will exert myself to fulfill my responsibilities. Based on the platform of the Literature Department of the P.L.A. Academy of Art to train and cultivate more outstanding literary talents for the army. In general, I will cherish the honor of part-time work in the Chinese Writers Association to promote the development and prosperity of military literature.
