晚清学堂教育与文章变革--以周作人为中心

On the Education in Schools in the Late Qing Dynasty and Changes in Literature :To center around Zhou Zuoren

晚清学堂的英语教育促成了周作人首次的纯白话写作,还影响其翻译实践。他的首译《侠女奴》效仿教科书,逐段逐句甚至是亦步亦趋般地逐词译,译文带有欧化语体的色彩。借由翻译实践,周作人的汉语写作习惯开始发生着改变。也正由此,可观晚清学堂教育与文章变革间的一种深处的关联。毋庸置疑,在新式教育的背景下,特别是新的逻辑性的语言经验的进入,或隐或显影响了一代人的思维方式与语言表达,中国传统文脉也因此而裂变新生。

The English education in schools in the late Qing dynasty triggered Zhou Zuoren＇s first work written in Vernacular and also influenced a lot on his translation. His first translation Xia＇nvnu （侠女奴） was modeled on the text book, which was translated line by line or even word for word with an Europeanized style. Because of his translation practice, Zhou Zuoren changed his habits in Chinese writing. And therefore we can see the deep connection between the school-education in the late Qing dynasty and changes in literature. Undoubtedly, in the context of the new-type education, the introduction of a new logical language experience in particular, had implicitly or explicitly influenced a generation in way of thinking and language expression, and thus contributed to the fission and innovation in China＇s writing tradition.
