A Comparative Study on the Syntactic Features of English and French Special Questions

本文以转换生成语法为理论框架,通过分组及画树状图等方法对特殊疑问句移位过程中移位类型、动机、规则及限制条件进行深入分析。发现英法特殊疑问句在转换生成过程中异同点,法语也符合普遍语法。

Based on the generative grammar theory, this thesis makes a deep analysis on the types, motivations, rules and limitations of special questions movement through grouping and painting the dendrogram. This thesis concludes that there are similarities and differences between English and French special question movement, and French is a language conforming to the generative grammar theory.
