Yan Ermei is a eminent talented person in Pei county who is open and upright, but few know him because of complicated historical reasons that are unresolved mystery till now. This paper analyzed the following four aspects ： the reasons why Yan Ermei travelled around the country, his purpose of deal- ing with turbulent government, his attitude in face of wealth and fame, his character of despising wrong things and accepting correct advice. Finally, the author analyzed how Yah Ermei＇s unique living environment influenced the formation of his character.
