Translation Compensation “Sandalwood Death” From the Perspective of Hermeneutic Motion Theory

阐释运作理论是当代翻译理论与实践研究的一个重大发展,即从信任、侵入、吸收和补偿等方面来诠释翻译过程。文章以葛浩文翻译的《檀香刑》英译本"Sandalwood Death"为研究对象,运用阐释学观点探析了作品中的翻译补偿,旨在为今后汉民族文化小说的翻译实践提供借鉴和参考。

Hermeneutic Motion theory is an important development in the domain of translation theory and practice study, which means to interpret translation process from the aspects of trust,intrusion, absorption, an compensation. With Ge Haowen＇ s version of ＂San- dalwood Death＂ as research object,the strategy of translation compensation is analyzed with Hermeneutic Motion theory,which aims to provide reference for the translation practice of Chinese cultural novels.
