谈五四运动的不足——基于人的现代化视角

On the Deficiency of the May 4^(th) Movement——Based on the Perspective of Human Modernization

现代化的核心是人的思想现代化。五四运动中的知识分子主张改造"国民性",实现人的现代化。然而,残酷的社会现实使他们逐渐卷入激烈的政治斗争之中,政治救亡迅速压倒思想启蒙,偏离了人的现代化这一最初目标。这种偏离集中体现在知识分子对待"民主科学"以及儒学的态度和各种主义的"迷信"、"五四事件"等过程中。五四运动中人的现代化任务破产使我国在之后的革命、建设、改革过程中出现一些失误,因而有必要对这一运动进行重新审视。

The core of modernization is the modernization of human thought.The intellectuals in the May4 th Movement advocated reforming the national character to realize the modernization of human being.However,the cruel reality of the society gradually involved them in the fierce political struggle.The political salvation quickly overwhelmed the enlightenment,which deviated from the original goal of human modernization.This deviation is mainly embodied in intellectuals' attitudes towards ' democratic science' and Confucianism and the process of kinds of 'superstition' and 'the May 4th events'.The bankruptcy of human modernization in the May 4th movement caused some mistakes in the process of revolution,construction and reform afterwards in our country,so it is necessary to take a new review of the movement.
