摘要
本文从家庭社会资本、性别和个人能力的角度考察毕业生就业的地域倾向及其对工作回报的影响。结果发现:第一,具有较高家庭社会资本的毕业生,倾向于留在户籍所在地工作,这一现象在能力较低及女性毕业生身上更为明显;第二,前往外地工作的毕业生有更高的工资收入,且家庭社会资本、性别和个人能力也显著影响其工资水平。在控制自选择偏差之后,结论依然稳健。本文拓宽了家庭社会资本及毕业生工资决定因素的研究,并对监管部门提供了明晰的决策参考。
Using a unique dataset from one Chinese college, we investigate the effects of parental social capital, gender, and personal abilities on the location choice of graduates. Our findings are as follows: First, graduates with stronger parental social capitals tend to seek job in hometown, especially for graduates whose personal abilities are lower. Second, graduates finding jobs out of hometown earn higher wages than those working in hometown. Meanwhile, parental social capital, personal abilities, and gender exhibit significant effect on grad- uate wages. Our results are also robust after considering the endogeneity.
