Comparison: An Approach to the Study of Language

本文基于对当下语言学研究的一种普遍现象的观察,尝试将对比视为一种研究语言的方法。在对其做出工作定义的基础上,文章分析和归纳了对比方法的内容、目的和原则以及意义。笔者认为,对比作为一种研究语言的方法,有利于发现新问题,有助于提出新思想。这一研究方法的广泛应用能够对语法理论体系或普通语言学理论建设做出新的贡献。

The paper, on the basis of an observation of a common phenomenon in the linguistic field, attempts to take comparison as an approach to the study of language. It offers a working definition to the approach, and discusses the content, purpose or aim, principles and significance of this approach. The author argues that comparison as an approach to the study of language can be used to raise interesting questions and develop new ideas. On top of this, the wide use of this approach is sure to make new contribution to the construction of grammatical system and theories of general linguistics.
