百科全书的编纂从对百科全书进行整体设计开始,将百科全书编纂成具整体性的系统是设计的目标。编辑对条目的审读工作是实现其设计目标的关键。编辑要通过有效审读,更好地实现百科全书的整体性和系统化;同时在百科全书整体性和系统化的要求下,去发现、解决条目内容中的问题。这两个方面,不可或缺,不可偏废。

The compilation of the encyclopedia starts from a fundamental and overall conception. The aim of the conception is to compile the encyclopedia into an integrated system. The editor＇s proofreading of the entry is the critical part of accomplishing the goal of the conception. Editors are expected to acquire the integrity and systematization of the encyclopedia through the effective proofreading and to detect and correct errors in the entry based on this goal. These two aspects are indispensable and neither of the two aspects can be omitted when editing.
