A Study of the Titles of the Four Uighur Tribes in the Helan Mountains

本文从《宋史·外国传》中贺兰山下四族回鹘应当如何断句谈起,利用审音勘同的历史语言学方法,对涉及到的官称、官号进行了逐一考证。不仅解决了断句问题,对贺兰山回鹘的部落构成也提出了新的认识。

This paper,beginning with the proper punctuating of the sentences about the four Uighur tribes at the foot of the Helan Mountains in Commentary of Foreign Lands in The History of Song Dynasty,verifies the involved official positions and titles one by one by using historical linguistics'method of sound examination and identity verification.Thus it not only solves the problem of the punctuation of these sentences,but also presents new knowledge about the structure of the Uighur tribes in the Helan Mountains.
