Chiang Kai-shek published a book named The Fate of China before a significant turning point of Anti- Japanese War. He issued the book with various edition and enormous amount at the expense of losing money, which immediately induced a debate over The Fate of China home and abroad. Textual research on the background of pub- lishing the book, the reason of issuing while losing money, and response from all circles after publication has signifi- cant academic value and historical significance to understand and study the debate happened more than 70 years ago.
