Of the resistance writers in China' s northeastern Japanese-occupied areas, Li Zhengzhong is a seemingly "non-typical" one-he was not the most violent, he did not join in any political organization, he was never arrested or became a fugitive. To resistance literature studies, however, his life experiences, literary career and publishing approaches are just loaded with heavy typical meaning. He experienced the misery common among the resistance writers of the Puppet Manchukuo period: work rejected, abridged and torn off, poetry collection distrained, himself investigated and monitored by the police. Li' s publishing approaches are precisely the four main demonstrations of the resistance literature of the northeastern Japanese-occupied areas, i.e., public publishing, work "on the run", non-public journal publishing and post-war demonstration. He was the chief editor of Northeast Literature after the Sino-Japanese War, which became a significant platform for the re-publishing of resistance literature. Li' s literary achievement lies in the fact that he not just genuinely described the thoughts and mentality of the young intellectuals of the Puppet Manchukuo period, but took great risks conveying the consciousness of resistance by creating and publishing.
