留美生胡宣明与民国时期的公共卫生运动

胡宣明是近代中国著名的公共卫生专家。他留美期间专攻公共卫生,既受到了西方公共卫生理念的影响,也体会到了中国开展公共卫生建设的迫切需求,并将此与国家、民族复兴相联系,形成了自己独特的公共卫生观念。他回国后推动卫生教育运动,极力提倡卫生常识宣传和学校卫生教育,开拓了卫生教育的新方式。他还有感于国人自办卫生的必要,以提倡卫生事业、增进全国国民之健康为宗旨,发起成立中国卫生会,致力于卫生运动的本土化。胡宣明通过开展公共卫生运动,不仅推动了民国时期的公共卫生建设,也使他成为近代中国公共卫生事业的倡导者和奠基人之一。
