英语学习词典中词目类联接编码信息探讨——以名词条目为例

The Representation of Colligation Information in English Learners' Dictionaries—A Case Study of Noun Entries

类联连信息作为语词的内部语境类型之一,对辅助英语词汇的产出活动具有重大的价值。英语学习词典必须要呈现与词目语义最密切相关的类联接特征。就英语名词而言,其类联接信息在学习词典中可以分为四种主要类型:(1)表示某一义项时对该名词数的要求;(2)表示某一义项时与该名词共现的词类;(3)表示某一义项时该名词的位置;(4)表示某一义项时该名词出现的语法结构。未来的英语学习词典仍需要进一步优化类联接信息的表征,要注意区分容易混淆的表征类联接信息的语法代码,并对同一类名词类联接信息统一描写。

As a type of internal contexts, colligation information plays a vital role in EFL learners＇ encoding activities. English learners＇ dictionaries should represent the colligation features most relevant to the meanings of the lemmas. As regards nouns, their colligation information in learners＇ dictionaries can be divided into four categories： 1 ） a marked preference for either singular or plural form; 2） a marked preference for collocates; 3 ） a marked preference for one particular position within the sentence or clause; and 4 ） a marked preference for a grammatical pattern. For future use, English learners＇ dictionaries should further optimize the representation of colligation information. This includes, for instance, distinguishing those easily confused grammatical codes, and representing the colligation information of nouns in a uniform way.
