摘要
"文化走出去"不仅与典籍翻译息息相关,与充满现实气息的应用翻译同样密不可分。文章结合例证,对传统的"增益-明示"翻译方法从修辞角度进行了重新思考,论证"增益-明示"除了能够发挥语言功能和语用功能外,还具有"呈现"的修辞功能。文章同时围绕"选择"和"表达"两方面,用实例说明如何在应用文本外译过程中得体应用这一修辞策略,使相关文化内涵更加有效地"呈现",提升其价值并达到整体增效,吸引受众对中国文化的关注和兴趣,提高译文影响力。
Translators of pragmatic texts,like those of classics,have a role to play in China's'Cultural going global'efforts. A rethinking of the traditional method of Amplification/Addition/Explicitation,together with real-world examples,is carried out to suggest that the method has the rhetorical function of'presence'in addition to semantic or pragmatic functions and can be regarded as a rhetorical strategy. A discussion of presence-motivated'selection'and'production'is followed to show how to apply the rhetorical strategy for value enhancing and synergy to achieve the purpose of inducing the target audience's attention and interest in Chinese cultural implications which are 'absent'in the original.
