FGF5 plays an important role in the developmental processes of secondary follicle. Using RT-PCR technology, this study was conducted to detect the expression pattern of FGF5 mRNA of adult Liaoning cashmere goats in different periods. The result showed that FGF5 gene mRNA were expressed in skin tissue of Liaoning cashmere goats in different periods, while the expression levels, from high to low, were telogen, anagen, catagen and proanagen, respectively. The expression level reached a peak in telogen and reached minimum peak in proanagen. The expression level between telogen and proanagen, catagen had significant differences (P〈0.05),andthedifferencebetweenproanagenandtheanagenwas significant (P〈0.05).
