Suffolk is a world famous meat sheep breed with early maturity,fast growth and development, strong adaptability, excellent meat quality, etc., it is the terminal sire breed of meat sheep industry all over the world. Suffolk as parent varieties were hybridized with indigenous sheep breeds of China, the germplasm characteristics of Suffolk and the consequence of hybridization and improvement in China were summarized to provide theoretical basis for its full use in China .
