Whenever the name of Weifang is mentioned,what comes to people's mind is a poetic name:Kite Capital of the World as well as the romantic scene of flying kites of various sizes and colors in the sky during the yearly Weifang International Kite Festival.The 1st Weifang International Kite Festival was held with great success on April 1,1984,when the reform and opening up just began in China.The soaring kites in the sky caught the eye of the world,With the successful closing of the 34 th Weifang International Kite Festival in 2017,the kite festival which has integrated in the life of Weifang people has went through its 34 years of glory.
