方壶山非澎湖岛亦非济州岛论

The Fanghu Mountain,neither Penghu Archipelago nor Jeju Island

《列子》中的五神山是虚构的神话,本不可作信史。后世学者把该神山方壶附会为今澎湖岛乃是臆测。而以《列子》方壶山衍生的两部后世志怪作品《海内十洲记》和《拾遗记》中的方丈山去反证《列子》方壶山为澎湖岛,亦不能成立。同样地,将方壶岛转化的方丈岛对号为韩国济州岛,也是犯了把神话当史实的错误。

Stories about the five mountains where immortals live in The Book of Lie Zi are just myths, not a proven history. Some scholars ’ argument that Fanghu Mountain could be Penghu Island isonly a conjecture. It can be disproven by studying Fangzhang Mountain described in HaiNei Shi Zhou Ji （ Tales of Ten Continents） and Shi Yi Ji （ Forgotten Tales） , two derivative mystery novels which were inspired by Fanghu Mountain in The Book of Lie Zi. In this case,neither couldFanghu Island be identified as Fangzhang Island and Jeju Island of South Korea.
