Metaphor is one feature of English language. For Chinese college students, it is a chal-lenging job to understand and translate English metaphors. Some studies on English metaphors are firstly recalled; and then the main obstacles in English metaphor translation are introduced; some skills for the translation of English metaphors are analyzed and studied lastly, hoping to help translators avoid distortion in translation.
