沈德符在《万历野获编》中用"三相同气"一条说明杨廷和、徐阶、张居正三位首辅兄弟关系不和睦,为明人认同,实际上其中杨氏兄弟的关系并非如此:交通刘瑾党上二人保持相同立场;为王琼作序事并不能说明二人"不同气",诽谤其兄更是子虚乌有,杨氏兄弟一直维持和睦的关系。并且杨廷仪卓有才识、政绩突出,死后却隐没无闻,杨廷仪自身的特殊性对我们研究明代污点官员的状况提供了绝佳范例,也对当时仕宦家族的亲属复杂关系及家族声誉的维护方式的研究有所启示。

Yang Tinghe is an important political figure in the Ming Dynasty. The traditional view that Yang Tinghe and Yang Tingyi＇ s relationship was not good was accepted by the people in Ming Dynasty, but that is not the case. Although Yang Tingyi and Liu Jin exchanged, Yang Ting and Yang Tingyi still maintained a close relationship ; Wang Qiong＇ s preface was written by Yang Tingyi, but it didn＇ t mean that the relationship between the two brothers was not good; Yang Tingyi did not slander Yang Tinghe. The two brothers had been in harmony. As an official, Yang Tingyi had a lot of contributions, but he did not have any fame after his death, which helps us study the bureaucratic families and dirty officials in Ming Dynasty.
