Overview of Chronic Kidney Disease in Cats

慢性肾病(CKD)属于广义范围的疾病,宠物临床中多发于老年犬猫,主要影响肾脏的结构和功能。CKD主要的症状是由肾脏损伤引起的贫血、电解质紊乱和脱水等并发症,最终动物会因并发症而死亡。CKD对肾脏的损伤是不可逆且无法预防的,需要一个长期的治疗过程。上述情况给宠物医生制定治疗方案带来了一定的困难,也给畜主情感和经济上造成了很大压力。因此,论文对猫CKD的流行、诊断和管理等方面进行综述,以期加深宠物医生及畜主对于CKD的理解和预判,从而更好的管理该病。

Chronic kidney disease （CKD） is a broad range of diseases, which mainly affect in elderly dogs and cats and cause the damage of renal structure and function. The main symptoms of CKD are anemia, electrolyte imbalance and dehydration, which could lead to death. The terrible thing of CKD is that the damage to the kidney is irreversible and cannot be prevented, and its treatment needs a long process. To some extent, the above situations cause some difficulties on the treatment program development of veterinarian, but also cause the emotional and economic pressure of pet owners. Therefore, this review summarized the prevalence, diagnosis and therapy of CKD in cats, in order to deepen the understanding and prediction of CKD, so as to better manage the disease.
