Traditional bamboo and rattan materials have ingenious coherence points with Zen Buddhism culture. Similarities of Zen Buddhism culture and bamboo rattan furniture were discussed by analyzing the development and design expression of Zen Buddhism culture, as well as the general characteristics of bamboo and rattan furniture. The paper will give inspirations on seeking a new developing form of Zen Buddhism culture in traditional bamboo and rattan furniture.
