摘要
本文在扼要分析电影的符号本质和特征的基础上,运用翻译符号学思想,从字幕翻译的符号三要素、字幕翻译过程及对等三个层面,系统地构建了电影字幕翻译的翻译符号学理论分析框架,并以《红高粱》电影字幕中文化负载词的翻译现象为例,验证该理论框架的解释力,得出翻译符号学可有效地解释字幕翻译中符码转换的过程与行为、符号的阐释可能性和符指意义潜势与译者创造之间的关系。
After briefly analyzing the semiotic nature and features of films, this paper systematically builds up its theoretical framework of film subtitling from the perspective of translation semiotics, covering the trichotomy of signs in film subtitling, the translation process of subtitling and the issue of equivalence. And the paper tests the explanatory power of translation-semiotic approach to film subtitling by analyzing the subtitling translations of culture-loaded words in the film Red Sorghum, and hereby concludes that translation semiotics can effectively explain the process and behavior of the transformation of signs, the interpre- tative possibilities of signs and the relationship between signifying potentials and the creations of translators in the context of film subtitling.
