摘要
由于需要承担全校的公共英语课程,高职英语教师普遍反映教学任务较重,加上高职生基础薄弱,教学效果不理想,导致英语教师身心倶疲。通过对身边英语教师进行访谈发现,大多教师仍沿用传统的以教师为中心的教学方法,按照教材按部就班进行内容的"搬运",满堂灌给学生,学生被动地接受知识,导致课堂缺乏师生互动。文章旨在探索教师如何充分合理利用教材,进行有效教学活动设计,并让学生在这些教学活动中积极参与,把被动听讲变为主动参与学习,提高英语学习积极性和课堂效率。
College English teachers are too tired both physically and mentally to teach well all the students in voca-tional colleges who are generally perceived as having a weak command of English. Based on observations regarding classroom English teaching and the usage of textbooks by college English teachers, it is found that many English teachers still adopt the teacher-centered teaching method in their classes, by which they just u implant^ the content from the textbook to the brains of their students. Such outdated teaching practices result in the lack of efficient ac-tivity design and effective teacher-student interaction. Under such circumstances, students are merely passive recip-ients of knowledge inculcated by their teachers. The present paper aims at exploring how English teachers can bet-ter make full use of the textbook and design fruitful textbook-based class activities to promote the learning interests of vocational college students and enhance the effectiveness of classroom English teaching.
