转喻在认知语用中使用原因浅议

On the Causes of Metonymy Used in Cognitive Pragmatics

人类语言中的诸多转喻实例说明,转喻作为人类重要的认知和思维方式其现象无所不在原因有三:第一,由于转喻遵循临近性和凸显性的原则;第二,由于转喻具有指称功能、人际功能、强调功能、连贯及衔接功能等强大的语用功能;第三,由于语言自身的词汇的匮乏和语言使用的省力原则。

This article interprets the reasons of metonymy widely used in cognitive pragmatics from three different reasons. The first one is that Metonymy follows the principle of proximity and convexity; the second one is that metonymy has the referential, interpersonal, emphatic, coherent, etc. pragmatic functions which make metonymy very powerful; the third one is that due to the lack of linguistic vocabulary and the least effort principle of language usage. By analyzing from these three aspects, it is hopefully that this article can provide a new reaching angle of metonymy.
