In ancient Chinese art, jade products are extremely magical and ethnical handicrafts. Ancient people often embody jade with virtues and topmost nobility. Ancient jade designs are endowed with supernatural power and animated soul. Jade thus goes beyond gem stone and haunts ancient people with spiritual magnitude. Taking Nanyue King' s burial gown of silk - threaded jade clothing as the research object, this paper analyzes ancient people' s ideological principle of "better a glorious death than a shameful life" and their belief of "soul eternity through jade".
