Comparative Study of “Typical Causative Usage” in Ancient Chinese and English

从语言对比的全新视角,将古代汉语中使动用法理论应用于英语研究中,明确界定了"典型使动用法"的内涵,分别从动词、形容词、名词三个方面比较了古汉语和英语的"典型使动用法",发现了其共通之处与相异之处。

In this paper,from the new perspective of language contrast, the theory of causative usage in ancient Chinese is applied to English studies,which clearly defines the connotation of “typical causative us- age”,and compares “typical causative usage” in ancient Chinese and English from three aspects of verb , adjective and noun. Their commonplace and similarities are also analyzed.
