This study, a stylistic analysis of Mrs. Dalloway, focusing on the ambiguity in speech and thought presentation, is an attempt to reveal the relationship between different modes of speech and thought presentation, and their artistic function. We believe the ambiguous FID helps to bridge the communal perception to individual responses and let the transition appear smooth. Moreover, the multiplicity shown in the ambiguous FID reflects the reality in modern world.
