On goal and range in functional grammar

以韩礼德 (Halliday)的系统功能语法为理论基础 ,探讨物质过程小句中目标和范围的参与者角色、目标及范围与过程的关系、目标及范围能否被其它参与者或环境修饰、检验目标与范围的标准等 ,找出目标与范围在物质过程小句中的异同 ,揭示目标与范围研究的意义。

This paper, taking Halliday's functional grammar as the theoretical basis, studies the roles of goal and participant(s), the relation between range and process, and modifications of goal and range such as a/other participant(s) or circumstance/s, and also offers some criteria to probe goal and range. By exploring these aspects, differences and similarities between goal and range in material processes are examined.
