On limitation of polysystem theory in its application to the modern translated literature of China

多元系统理论有一定的解释力 ,但并不具有普遍适用性 ,不足以解释中国近代翻译文学这一特例 ;这一理论的局限性源于它只考虑了制约翻译策略选择的客观文化因素 ,而忽视了作为翻译主体的人的主观能动性。

Polysystem theory is not adequate in explaining the specific case of literary translation in modern China and thus not universally applicable. The limitation of the theory results from the fact that it does not take into consideration the initiative of the translators with regard to the selection of translation strategy.
