OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the efficacy of creatine phosphate sodium in improvement of left heart function on elderly patients with chronic cardiac insufficiency. METHODS: 286 elderly patients with chronic cardiac insufficiency were extracted to be divided into observation group and control group via the random number table, with 143 cases in each. The control group was treated with conventional anti-heart failure drugs, while the observation group additionally received creatine phosphate sodium based on the control group. The clinical efficacy, LVEF, LVEDD, LVESD and NT-proBNP and incidence of adverse drug reactions of two groups were compared. RESULTS: The marked effective rate, total effective rate of observation group were respectively 61.5% (88/143) ,90. 9% ( 130/ 143 ), significantly higher than that of control group [ 44. 1% ( 63/143 ), 72.0% ( 103/143 ) ], with statistically significant difference(P 〈 0. 05). After treatment, the LVEF, LVEDD, LVESD and NT-proBNP in two groups had been improved significantly, and the observation group were higher than control group, with statistically significant difference (P 〈 0. 05 ). There was no adverse drug reactions related to chronic cardiac insufficiency. CONCLUSIONS : Creatine phosphate sodium combined with conventional treatment can effectively improve left heart function, prognosis and life quality without any severe adverse drug reactions.
