否定表达决不仅仅是语法问题。在实际语言生活中,否定表达往往是一种修辞行为,内蕴深刻的意涵。因此,凡属修辞行为的否定表达,一般都具有特定的修辞功能。有的是为了化抽象为具象,有的是为了化平淡为生动,有的是为了突显强化某种语意印象,有的是为了柔化语气显得礼貌,有的是为了突显被动而赢得同情。当然,还有其他修辞功能。

Negative expression is not just a grammatical problem, but is often a kind of rhetorical behavior in real language life with profound meaning implied. Thus, any negative expression that is a rhetorical behavior generally has a specific rhetorical function： sometimes it is to translate abstraction into concreteness, or to turn plainness into vividness, and at other times it is to highlight a certain semantic impression, or to soften the tone to show politeness, or to emphasize passivity to win sympathy. Of course, there are other rhetorical functions.
