The Motivations and Obstacles to South Korean Immigrant Entrepreneurship in China——A Case Study of the Wudaokou Area in Beijing

推力和拉力因素共同促使北京五道口地区韩国移民决定创业。获得就业机会、赚取合理利润、自己当老板是最重要的创业动机。资金不足、竞争激烈、运营成本较高是移民创业者所遇到的最主要障碍。韩国移民创业者、中国政府部门、第三方机构、当地社区需要加强互动,以帮助韩国移民创业。

This case study explores the motivations and obstacles to South Korean immigrant entrepreneurship in the Wudaokou Area, Beijing, China. Push and pull factors work together to make South Korean immigrants become entrepreneurs. The top 3 motivations are to create employment opportunities, make profits and be their own boss. The three biggest obstacles are lack of startup and running finance, fierce competition and high operational costs. To promote entrepreneurial quality, South Korean immigrant entrepreneurs, Chinese governments at all levels, financial institutions and local community should cooperate with each other.
