定位理论与芬兰国家形象构建——以芬兰总统联大演讲为例

Positioning Theory and Finland's National Image Projection:An analysis of the Speech Made by Sauli Niinist,the President of Finland,at the 70^(th) Session of UN General Assembly

本文以芬兰总统尼尼斯托在70届联大上的演讲为语料,采用定位理论分析其演讲话语策略。作者通过分析不同议题中的叙事框架和言语行为,论述了芬兰如何改变自身在联合国中的定位,从而为本国承担更多国际责任和寻求更多的本国权利;进而阐释了尼尼斯托如何在国际舞台上构建新的国家形象——"联合国的坚定支持者,国际责任的切实承担者,国际冲突解决新范式的倡导者,维护全人类福祉的引领者"。

This paper analyzes the speech of Sauli Niinist-the President of Finland at the 70^th Session of UN General Assembly within the framework of the positioning theory. It explains how the status of Finland has been changed in the UN so that it has obtained more duties and rights by a close look at different topics addressed by Niinisto within the evolving story-lines and speech acts. It further illustrates how Finland＇ s national image is projected as a country that supports the UN, shoulders the responsibilities, explores innovative political solutions to international conflicts and leads to a better future of humankind through the successful use of discourse strategies.
