This paper explains the methodology of narration in the film The Graadmaster directed by Kar- wai Wong, with the Zen Buddhist ideas of ＂detach from material, detach from idea, see the nature and be- come a Buddha＂, which was produced by the sixth generation Zen master Hui Neng in his Altar Sutra, and provides a brand new research methodology and angle to understand Karwai Wong＇s film narration.
