Britain and Russia's Competitive Geographical Investigation Activities for Pamirs and Tarim Basin in Late Nineteenth Century

十九世纪中后期,随着英俄在中亚竞争的升温,中国帕米尔及塔里木盆地逐渐成为英俄竞夺的重要地理区域。双方都不断地派遣探险家频繁活动于中国帕米尔与塔里木盆地。本文拟将塔里木盆地与中国帕米尔视为一整体地域,以此来分析英俄在此地域内的地理考察活动。

In the mid and late 19th century, the Pamirs and Tarim Basin of China had gradually become important geographical area for Britain and Russia since their competition in central Asia grew. Constant explorers were sent to the region by both sides. This paper intends to regard the Pamirs and Tarim Basin of China as a whole region to analyze the geographical investigation activities of Britain and Russia in the area.
