A survey of Liu Miqing's translation research methods

刘宓庆是中国当代著名的翻译理论家,是中国翻译学建设和现代翻译理论研究的开拓者之一。在其近40年的翻译研究生涯中,运用了多种研究方法,如比较法、跨学科方法、系统论方法等,这些方法都可以归结到他提出的"本位观照、外位参照"的总方法。本文简要梳理和评析了他的翻译研究方法,以期对其翻译研究有更全面、更深入的认识,同时希望以此个案研究为国内翻译研究方法的讨论提供借鉴。

Liu Miqing is a prominent contemporary Chinese translation theorist and one of the pioneers in the construction of Chinese translatology and modern Chinese translation studies. In the nearly40 years of translation study,he has applied a variety of research methods such as comparison method,interdisciplinary method,systematology method,etc. These methods can be reduced to one more general method,that is,'observing inwards and consulting outwards'. A brief survey of Liu Miqing's research methods is made in hope of a deeper and more holistic understanding of his translation research and offering reference for the discussion about Chinese translation research methods from this case study.
