Under the perspective of Jung's prototype theory, and by means of close reading and analysis, this thesis argues that Jane is the embodiment of Charlotte Bront's persona, Bertha, the crazy woman, is that of her psychological shadow, and that Mr. Rochester symbolizes the combined animus both in her inner heart and reality. The coordination and change of persona, shadow and animus is the realization process of Charlotte Bront's self actualization. This process shows Charlotte Bronte's perspective on feminism that feminist's ultimate goal is not only to deconstruct male chauvinism, but also to eliminate feminism, and to establish a kind of harmonious bisexual relationship.
