With the continuous development of economy and the increase of the income,the residents put forward more and more diverse requirements on the residential space. Therefore, the residential units need to have the corresponding adaptability to adapt to the needs of the development of society and household needs.This paper will improve the flexibility and adaptability of residential units through the study of the principles and methods of variable house type design.
