An Implication of English Newspaper Outside-reading in English Reading Comprehension Teaching for English Major at the Foundation Level

依据《高等学校英语专业英语教学大纲》(2000年)和新版《高等学校英语专业四级考试大纲》(2015年),探讨英语专业基础阶段英语报刊课外阅读的重要性。英语报刊课外阅读能补充阅读教学内容,扩大学生词汇量,接触标准、地道的英语表达方式及拓展学生视野;选择好英文报刊,加强动态学习,改革评价方式,促进英语阅读教学。

According to ＂the English Teaching Syllabus for English Majors in Colleges and Universities＂ （ edition 2000 ） and new edition （ edition 2015 ） of ＂Syllabus for TEM 4 （ Test for English Majors ） in Colleges and Universities＂, this article discusses the importance and necessities of English newspaper outside-reading, which is helpful for English reading and English teaching in class. It helps to provide much more information for reading and teaching, to enlarge vocabulary and to expend horizon of students. And this paper shows some methods and suggestions of English newspaper outsider-reading, such as choosing a better English newspaper, strengthening dynamic learning and reforming evaluation method.
