粮长制度作为明代赋役制度的重要组成部分,是明太祖朱元璋为了巩固政权,改善和恢复经过战乱摧残后的明初经济,采取的赋役征收制度,亦是朱明政权统治和剥削人民的有力工具。通过这一制度,不仅可以便利政府对田赋的征收,而且可以借此依靠大地主阶级的协助来巩固封建政权对农村的统治。这一制度的实施对明初经济的逐步恢复起到了一定的作用,但在后期由于各方面原因的影响,也使其变成一种危害经济发展和社会风气的祸患。

As an important part of the taxes and corvee system, Liangchang System used by Zhu Yuanzhang in order to consolidate his power, recovered and bettered the economy after the ruin by the war. And it is also a powerful instrument to rule and exploit the people. This system not only can bring convenience to the government＇s collecting taxes, but also can consolidate the country ruled by feudal system with the help of squire class. This system played a role in recovery＂ of Ming Dynasty＇s economy. But because of the influence of various aspects reasons, it became the disaster which did harm to the economic development and general mood of society.
