Objective To investigate the changes of protein kinase C(PKC)activity in Diabetic peripheral neuropathy(DNP)in patients with insulin resistance(IR).Methods PKC obtained from the cytoplasm and cellular membrane of PBLs in patients with Diabetic peripheral neuropathy and normal controls was isolated and purified for activity assaying by isotopeγ-P-ATP catalytic activity test. Results Patients with Diabetic peripheral neuropathy and IR were associated with markedly higher PKC activity in1 ymphocytes as well as higher cellular membrane PKC activity and cytoplasm PKC activity.ConclusionWhen compared with normal controls.Patients with Diabetic peripheral neuropathy and IR are featured by considerably increased activity and the level of activation of PKC in PBL.
