中外哲人很早就有关于节制伦理思想的观点。节制内在于人,指人的理性对欲望的控制,同时可以延伸为个人的德性;外在于社会是一种良好的制度,可以延伸为法律。它以善为根本目的,表现为一种良好的秩序,以伟大的理性公正者的身份,调节着人与自身、人与人、人与自然的关系,在环境问题日益严峻的今天,无疑使我们高度警醒。
