This paper describes the application of IEC61850 in smart hydropower station,focusing on the GOOSE communication mechanisms,briefly introduces the modeling process of GOOSE communication,and analyzes the reliability and realtime performance of GOOSE transmission. Finally,the application of IEC61850 modeling process and GOOSE protocol in smart hydropower plant communication is put forward.
