从“洪荒之力”英译看跨文化翻译策略

On the Intercultural Translation Strategies Based on English Versions of “Hong Huang Zhi Li”

以2016年度网络热词"洪荒之力"为切入点,分析其出处、释义及不同的英译版本,指出在跨文化翻译过程中,译者需要在兼顾原文化内涵基础上洞察语言间文化差异,同时恰当地选择翻译方法,使译语尽可能达到与原文的动态对等,为异文化读者所接受,从而达到有效的跨文化交际目的。

Taking the 2016 Buzzword ＂hong huang zhi li＂ as a starting point and after analyzing its ori- gin, connotations and different English versions, this paper points out that the translator should consider con- notations of the source language as well as cultural differences between languages in the process of intercultur- al translation. Furthermore, the translator should choose proper translation method so as to realize the dynamic equivalence between the source language and the target language, making it easier for foreign readers to un- derstand and effectively promoting intercultural communication.
